2022 ILMA Annual Meeting CANCELED

September 28

It is with deep disappointment that ILMA announces the cancellation of the 2022 Annual Meeting.

Hurricane Ian, which was initially predicted to not affect Marco Island, moved eastward as it steadily intensified and already has begun to bring destructive hurricane impacts to the Marco Island area and southwest Florida, including dangerous storm surge, torrential rains, flooding and high winds. The City of Marco Island and surrounding Collier County have ordered mandatory evacuations. Staff from the JW Marriott acknowledge that conditions at the property today are deteriorating.

“The safety of our members and attendees is ILMA’s foremost priority,” said ILMA CEO Holly Alfano. “We cannot in good conscience continue with holding the Annual Meeting under these dangerous conditions.”

ILMA has held Annual Meetings in Florida seven times since 2000, and this is the first meeting to be canceled due to weather. “While I am saddened that we will not be able to gather for the Annual Meeting this year, I know the ILMA community is strong and resilient,” said Mike Damiani, president of ILMA’s Board of Directors. “We will come back together at ILMA Engage 2023, and we will come back even stronger.”

Refunds and Hotel Cancelations
ILMA will automatically issue refunds for all registrations.

The JW Marriott Marco Island, Marco Beach Ocean Resort (overflow hotel) and Hilton Marco Island (overflow hotel) will be canceling attendee reservations and issuing refunds to those who booked in the ILMA room block. Refunds will be issued in 7-10 business days. You do not have to contact the hotels. Thank you for your patience.
