Jack Poley is managing general partner of Condition Monitoring International, LLC. He has 60 years of experience in condition monitoring and in-service fluid analysis, also known as oil analysis. He holds a B.S. in chemistry from University of California Berkeley and a B.S. in management from New York University School of Commerce.
A member of ASTM & the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE), Poley co-founded STLE’s Condition Monitoring Technical Committee and founded the Condition Monitoring Education Course. He also co-founded STLE’s successful Oil Monitoring Analyst (OMA I and OMA II) Program. He is an STLE Fellow.
In 1975, Poley founded Lubricon, a commercial laboratory offering fluid analysis to major oil companies and OEMs under private label, as well as large end-users in all segments of industry. The company was acquired by Cummins Engine Co. in 1988.
Poley has authored numerous fluid analysis chapters for various publications and wrote a bi-monthly column, On Condition Monitoring, for STLE’s Tribology and Lubrication Transactions magazine for nearly 20 years. He has presented hundreds of papers and over 100 seminars worldwide on condition monitoring.
