Adam Steltzner and the talented team at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory followed the success of the Curiosity rover with the stunning Mars 2020 mission, landing the Perseverance rover on the red planet this past February. Landing the rover on Mars was akin to hurling a dart from New York City to a 5-foot circle in Washington, DC. More than a technological achievement, the successful mission stands as an extraordinary leadership accomplishment in the midst of a global pandemic.

In his exhilarating keynote, Steltzner will share his own innovation challenges and leadership struggles that led up to a flawless execution. Most importantly, he'll show how you can overcome daunting obstacles in times of uncertainty and change.

Family Business Session: Non-Family Employees (and Executives) in a Family Business

2:00pm - 3:00pm

What are your most pressing family business questions?

Family businesses invest plenty of time nurturing the skills of the leading and next generations. But what about non-family employees? Most family businesses can’t operate without them, but do you – and do they – understand how they fit in, what opportunities they have for advancement, and what their concerns are for the future of your business?

With the challenging labor market, it’s especially important to invest in and retain non-family talent. Steve McClure, principal consultant of the Family Business Consulting Group, will help attendees understand the non-family point of view and offer some best practices that will keep your company strong for generations to come.

McClure also wants to know what interests ILMA members most about this topic. Make sure your most pressing concerns are addressed by taking a few moments to complete the in-app Family Business Session survey.
